I love their crinkle cookies and anything ube--brownies, cheese, flan cupcakes. Everything is so addictive! The owner here is incredibly sweet, and she made my first experience so memorable when they first opened that I keep coming back with that memory in mind. Their drinks are great, and The Manila (Taro Cold Brew) is a bestseller. I also love raiding their desserts close to closing time--or visiting early in the morning, if you know, you know. The place is small, cute, and very clean.

It maybe raining in Manila but it's raining purple in Cerritos, California ;). Most may not get my little reference to a popular song in the Philippines in my line above but many will understand the love for ube :). I've been wanting to visit Kape Republik for awhile now due to their unique drinks with fun Filipino inspired flavors like ube and mango. I finally got to check this place out and I was sold when I saw the description of Purple Rain. The Purple Rain drink consists of fresh ube jam and ube ice cream. Yum! I was definitely one happy girl when I tasted this drink. It definitely had that tasty ube flavor! I was happy that they used fresh ube jam and not a powder. One can really taste the difference. Masarap! (That's delicious in Tagalog!) The Purple Rain comes in one size only and is $5.50. This is quite the deal as the drink is huge! Huge in size and huge in taste and I am definitely a fan. It is the perfect Filipino "malamig" (cold) shake for hot days in Cerritos. It maybe raining in Manila ("Hindi ka ba nilalamig".....aren't you cold the hit song says) but here in Cerritos it's 90 degrees! I'm so happy I got to check this place out finally! I hope to be back again to try their other drinks like their Mango Rain :)!

Dessert spot/bakery that specializes in Filipino inspired flavors! They're known for their crinkle cookies, but they also have brownies, cupcakes, and even drinks! 'Ube Crinkle Cookies': This is what you need to come here for, love the ube flavor! It has the nice crumbly/crinkle texture, but is still moist on the inside! 'Buko Pandan Crinkle Cookies': the pandan flavor is pretty subtle, overall tastes like a sweet vanilla cookie! Staff is very friendly as well! I was pleasantly surprised that they had a few seating inside, but it's nice if you wanted to enjoy your little treats right away.

A fantastic Filipino coffee shop that you should stop by and grab a drink and dessert! They are located located right next to Seafood City which is also a Filipino supermarket. After pondering over the menu I settled on the Ube Kalessa latte and an ube brownie as a treat for myself. Ube Brownie - great texture and a good balance of chocolate and ube flavor. It wasn't too dry and crumbly and was chewy. Highly recommend getting this one. Ube Kalessa latte - Delicious and sweet. The addition of condensed milk added a rich, creaminess to the drink and there was a good amount of ube flavor which was balanced out by the coffee to make for a smooth drink. Service was quick and friendly and the lady who made my drink was helpful with any questions I had. They have a variety of baked desserts you can choose from and they also have make shakes and smoothies too. Parking is also easy to find as it's located in a big plaza. There's also plenty of seating available as well if you want to relax and hang out for a bit. Overall, this is a highly recommended spot and if you need a quick drink or dessert, you should stop by!
